Edition 2025 — Guerra & Pace
Guerra & Pace 2025 in Piedimonte San Germano
The 2025 edition of Guerra & Pace focused, as per tradition, around the date of May 25th, the anniversary of the Liberation of Piedimonte San Germano: 2025 marked the 81st Memorial Day. The Municipality, in the province of Frosinone, proposed a path of shared memory between institutions, the parish, associations, and the school world that year as well.
The common thread remained the same: remembering the civilian and military fallen, valuing the testimonies of survivors, and strengthening the relationship with Poland, born with the liberation of the town by the 12th Podolian Uhlan Regiment in May 1944 and consolidated over the years through twinning and exchanges. In 2025, the International Junior Tournament educational project also involved Italian and foreign students at the sites of the Battle of Monte Cassino.
The 2025 edition also accompanied historical reflection on the "little Monte Cassino," the village razed to the ground by the 1944 bombings and then rebuilt, with presentations and meetings dedicated to collecting local memories.
