Edition 2025 — GU.PHO.

In 2025, the GU.PHO. Vernacular Photography International Festival returned to the Castle of Guiglia, consolidating itself as the premier European event dedicated to vernacular, anonymous, and archival photography. The edition featured exhibitions, talks, round tables, screenings, and workshops, reaffirming the Modenese Apennine village as a reference point for artists, scholars, and publishers in the field.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of GU.PHO. took place in Guiglia, in the province of Modena, at the Castle of Guiglia. The festival, dedicated to vernacular photography, brought together Italian and international artists with exhibitions, talks, and screenings, accompanied by workshops and discussion sessions on anonymous and archival imagery.

The event strengthened the link between the small Emilian village and contemporary photographic research, paving the way for the fifth edition in 2026, dedicated to the theme of the ethics of the gaze.
