Grilled Octopus Festival

The 2025 Grilled Octopus Festival was held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, starting at 9:00 PM at Piazzale SS. Medici in Uggiano la Chiesa, in the province of Lecce. Organized by the SS. Medici Citizens' Committee with the patronage of the Municipality, the evening featured octopus grilled over charcoal according to Salento tradition, accompanied by vegetarian dishes and local wines.

The musical highlight was the live concert by Consuelo Alfieri, who brought Mediterranean sounds and traditional folk rhythms to the square, helping to create the convivial atmosphere that characterizes the event every year. Admission was free, and for one night, the village transformed into a lively open-air restaurant.
