Great Summer Festival in honor of Maria SS. dell'Elemosina

The 2025 Great Summer Festival in honor of Maria SS. dell'Elemosina, patron saint of Biancavilla, was held from August 22 to 31, 2025, with the solemnity set for the last Sunday of the month, Sunday, August 31. The program, released by the Maria SS. dell'Elemosina Association, included the solemn novena with the daily recitation of ancient Marian prayers and midday cannon shots for the Angelus.

The final three days marked the most intense moments: the Eucharistic day on Thursday with the evening procession between Piazza Roma and Piazza Collegiata, the cultural and spiritual moment on Friday, and the consecration of new members of the Association on Saturday. On Sunday, August 31, after the solemn Holy Mass, the venerated icon was carried in procession through the historic center, returning to the basilica amidst fireworks and final prayer, in a large gathering of the faithful.
