Edition 2025 — Fire of Saint Anthony
In 2025, Pescopennataro also celebrated Saint Anthony Abbot on January 16th with the great bonfire in Piazza del Popolo and the tasting of typical Molise winter dishes, on a traditional evening around the flame that brought the village community together.
The 2025 edition of the Fire of Saint Anthony Abbot took place in Pescopennataro on January 16th, according to tradition. In Piazza del Popolo, the large bonfire was lit, around which the community gathered to taste typical winter dishes — pork rind and beans, polenta pizza with cracklings, soppressata, and sausages. A rite of fire that each year, in the heart of Alto Molise and the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, marks the winter of the stone village.
