The 2025 Edition

The 2025 Great Feast of the Addolorata was celebrated on Sunday, September 21, in Monterosso Almo, in the heart of the Iblei Mountains. The festivities began at 6:00 AM with the festive ringing of bells and 21 cannon shots, followed by the first Eucharistic celebrations presided over by the archpriest Father Innocenzo Mascali.

The most anticipated moment, the "nisciuta" of the statue, took place at 11:00 AM with the release of "nzaiarieddi" and a fireworks display. In the afternoon, at 4:30 PM, the traditional "cena" featured the auction of local sweets. In the evening, the 7:30 PM Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the Bishop of Ragusa, Monsignor Giuseppe La Placa, followed by the evening procession accompanied by the "Vincenzo Bellini" band of Monterosso Almo and the "Il Pentagramma" band of Vizzini, ending with final fireworks in the Tre Sirilli district.
