Second edition 2025: identity and future of the hinterland

On June 27 and 28, 2025, the second edition of the Gran Sasso Storytelling Villages Festival brought together the mayors of the fifteen municipalities of the Integrated Tourist Destination, including Castelvecchio Calvisio, under the coordination of the IL BOSSO cooperative and with the support of the Gran Sasso Velino LAG.

The program alternated between lunch in the Gastronomic Village of Knowledge and Flavors, participatory discussions on the future of the towns, the screening of documentaries, and a concert of Abruzzo folk music. There was also a Film Competition dedicated to short films set in the Storytelling Villages, with an awards ceremony for the winners. At the heart of the edition was the theme of urban and social regeneration of the small villages in the Abruzzo hinterland.
