Good Friday Procession

In 2025, the Good Friday Procession of Tagliacozzo was held on April 18. As per tradition, the Holy Week rites opened on Maundy Thursday with the visit to the Sepulchres in the city churches.

On Good Friday, after the afternoon Via Crucis at the Chiesa del Calvario, the evening procession of the Dead Christ and the Sorrowful Virgin, organized by the Confraternita della Misericordia, departed at dusk from the Chiesa della Misericordia in Piazza dell'Obelisco. The 18th-century statues crossed the alleys of the historic center of Tagliacozzo accompanied by the band and the singing of the Miserere, confirming the deep participation of the Marsica community in one of the most defining rites of the year.
