Edition 2025 — Good Friday of Oleggio

In 2025, the Good Friday Procession of Oleggio celebrated its 430th edition: on Friday, April 18, at 8:30 PM, the procession started from the Parish Church of Saints Peter and Paul to cross the historic center. Four hundred and thirty years of history and faith, with the statues of the dead Christ and the Sorrowful Mother accompanied by the Confraternita della SS. Annunziata and about 300 participants.

The 2025 edition, the 430th in history, took place on Friday, April 18, at 8:30 PM. As per centuries-old tradition, the procession started from the Parish Church of Saints Peter and Paul and wound through the streets of the historic center of Oleggio, in the Province of Novara. The statues of the dead Christ and the Sorrowful Virgin, kept at the Museum of Religious Art, were carried on the shoulders of the confreres by the light of the cilostri, renewing the dramatic Baroque rite of the funeral of the dead Christ documented since 1595.
