Good Friday Procession of Milena

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week rites in Milena followed the usual traditional proceedings. On Maundy Thursday, the faithful performed the 'Viaggi' to the altars of repose, locally called 'u Sepolcru', decorated with plants, flowers, and white wheat sprouts grown in the dark.

On the afternoon of Good Friday, April 18, 2025, the procession of the Urn of the Dead Christ and the Addolorata took place through the streets of the center, in an atmosphere of profound spirituality and silent participation. The singers alternated in the lamentations, intoning the Passion through the fifteen stations of the route, in a rite that remains one of the strongest identity-defining moments for the community in the Caltanissetta area.
