2025 Edition

The Good Friday Procession of Chieti on April 18, 2025, was announced by organizers as an edition with record numbers, and it effectively drew thousands of people to the historic center of the Abruzzese capital.

As per tradition, the procession emerged at dusk from the Cathedral of San Giustino, led by the seven symbols of the Passion and accompanied by the hooded members of the 13 local confraternities, guided by the Archconfraternity of the Sacro Monte dei Morti. A choir of over 160 singers, divided into first tenors, second tenors, and basses, performed the famous Miserere by Saverio Selecchy set to the text of Psalm 50, confirming the rite as one of the most deeply felt moments of popular devotion in Abruzzo.
