Good Friday Procession of Acquedolci

In 2025, the Good Friday procession in Acquedolci took place on April 18th, the day of Good Friday. The ritual, cited among the Easter events in Sicily, confirmed its identity-defining strength for the community of the Messina municipality.

As per tradition, after the Stations of the Cross, the ancient wooden Crucifix attributed to Ignazio Marabitti, kept in the Mother Church of the Blessed Virgin of the Assumption, along with the statues of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows, was carried in procession through the streets of the center of Acquedolci, accompanied by the prayers of the faithful.
