Good Friday Procession

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week in Montelepre confirmed the vitality of one of the most deeply felt religious traditions in the province of Palermo. The Procession of the Mysteries, with its approximately eighty living tableaux and four hundred participants, opened the celebrations on Palm Sunday, retracing the history of salvation along the village streets. On Good Friday, April 18, 2025, the glass urn of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows crossed the historic center, carried on the shoulders of the two ancient congregations, in an atmosphere of profound recollection.
