Edition 2025 — Good Friday in Sciara

In 2025, Good Friday fell on April 18th. The Sant'Anna Parish of Sciara renewed that year the traditional procession of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows floats through the streets of the historic center, as part of the broader calendar of Holy Week rites, from the blessing of the palms to the Easter procession of the Risen Christ.

Good Friday 2025, celebrated on April 18th, saw Sciara gather around its most deeply felt rites. The Sant'Anna Parish led the procession of the floats of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows along the streets of the Metropolitan City of Palermo village, accompanied by funeral marches and the moving participation of the faithful. The rite was part of the Sciara Holy Week journey, which leads from Palm Sunday to the joyful procession of the Risen Christ on Easter Day.
