Edition 2025 — Good Friday in Bronte
The 2025 edition of the Good Friday Procession in Bronte took place on Friday, April 18. As per tradition, the procession started in the afternoon from the Church of the Madonna del Riparo and silently crossed the narrow streets of the historic center, accompanied by confraternities in black robes and living characters of the Passion. The four statues — Christ at the Column, Christ Crucified, the Dead Christ, and Our Lady of Sorrows — were carried on the shoulders of the faithful, many of whom were barefoot as a vow. The most moving moment was the Encounter in Piazza Gagini, with the chant of the Stabat Mater, before the return of the statues to the churches late at night.
