Cesano Maderno and Palazzo Arese Borromeo turn pink for the Giro caravan
Cesano Maderno (Province of Monza and Brianza, Lombardy) confirms its role in the Giro d'Italia, one of the three major stage races in international cycling. After the experience in 2025, when the town hosted the finish of the Morbegno-Cesano Maderno stage, the area once again hosts the Stage Headquarters: the logistical and organizational headquarters of the pink race.
The prestigious Palazzo Arese Borromeo, a 17th-century residence with its frescoed halls, becomes the nerve center of the organization: a media center for accredited journalists and a logistical base for the RCS Sport staff. In 2025, the palace welcomed thousands of fans and over 100 international journalists from 21 different countries, receiving unanimous appreciation that led to its confirmation for the following edition.
The event is not confined to technical areas: in Piazza Esedra, RCS sets up a special-track with promotional activities dedicated to the Giro, while the entire Cesano Maderno is tinged with the pink color symbolizing the race. For Brianza, this is an opportunity for visibility and celebration, capable of attracting cycling enthusiasts and curious onlookers to the city's iconic landmarks.
The Giro d'Italia is more than just a cycling race: it's a grand popular narrative that traverses the peninsula each year, bringing with it colors, enthusiasm, and international media attention. Hosting the Stage Headquarters means welcoming the "organizational heart" of the race, with all the logistical and journalistic machinery that accompanies it. For Cesano Maderno, it is a prestigious recognition, linking the city's name and its splendid Palazzo Arese Borromeo to one of the most beloved and followed sporting events in the world, while also enhancing Brianza's historical-artistic heritage to a global audience.
On May 25, 2026, the day after the arrival in Milan, Cesano Maderno hosts the Giro d'Italia Stage Headquarters for the second consecutive edition. Palazzo Arese Borromeo transforms into the logistical and media center for journalists and RCS Sport staff, while in Piazza Esedra, the special-track with promotional activities for the pink race is set up. Mayor Gianpiero Bocca emphasized how the historic halls and iconic city landmarks received international acclaim, leading to the confirmation of the venue.
The Stage Headquarters is the logistical and organizational center for the race, not a spectacular event open to the public in the traditional sense. Activities documented for May 25, 2026, include: the setup of the media center for accredited journalists and the RCS Sport logistical base in the halls of Palazzo Arese Borromeo; the Giro d'Italia promotional special-track in Piazza Esedra, with activities open to fans; the entire city "turning pink" in its symbolic locations.
