Edition 2025 — Giro d'Italia in Alessandria

The 108th edition of the Giro d'Italia took place from May 9 to June 1, 2025, with a historic start from Albania (from Durrës to Tirana) and the final finish in Rome. In 2025, the Corsa Rosa did not stop in Alessandria, but passed through Piedmont with mountain stages decisive for the general classification.

The 2025 Giro d'Italia, the 108th edition of the race, kicked off on May 9 from Albania, with the "Grande Partenza" from Durrës and the finish of the first stage in Tirana: it was the first time in history that the Corsa Rosa started from the Balkan country. The conclusion, on June 1, took place in Rome for the seventh time in history.

Although there was no stage in Alessandria, the 2025 edition crossed Piedmont with high-mountain stages, including the famous climb to the Colle delle Finestre, the race's Cima Coppi at 2,178 meters. For fans in Alessandria, it was a preview of the Giro's grand return to the city, scheduled for the following year with the Alessandria-Verbania stage in May 2026.
