The 44th edition (XLIV) of the Giovanni Boccaccio Literary Prize took place in Certaldo from September 12 to 14, 2025, in a weekend that also celebrated the 650th anniversary of Boccaccio's death. The prizes were awarded to Melania Mazzucco for literature, Ezio Mauro for journalism, and Claudio Baglioni for ethics in communication, the first singer-songwriter to be awarded in the event's history.

The 44th edition of the Boccaccio Prize, which concluded on Sunday, September 14, 2025, was described by the organizers as an unforgettable edition, capable of uniting roots and innovation on the 650th anniversary of the death of Giovanni Boccaccio.

The 2025 winners

The ceremony at the Teatro Multisala Boccaccio was followed by hundreds of people in the hall, thousands of viewers via streaming, and, for the first time, on a giant screen in Piazza Boccaccio.
