Edition 2025 — Giostra di Simone

The 55th edition of the Giostra di Simone took place in Montisi, with the equestrian joust held on Sunday, August 3, 2025. The four Contrade—Castello, Piazza, San Martino, and Torre—competed at the Campo to win the Panno. The event was preceded by a week of activities: trials, presentation of the Panno, torchlight procession, blessing of the horses, propitiatory dinners in the districts, and theatrical and musical performances.

The 2025 edition of the Giostra di Simone, the 55th, brought Montisi (Municipality of Montalcino) to life from July 26 to August 6, with the equestrian joust held on Sunday, August 3.

The week of festivities featured food stands at the Terrazzone, concerts, theatrical and juggling performances, field trials, the presentation of the Panno (signed by Francesco Sedda by Francesco Sedda and Renzo Regoli), the torchlight procession with the blessing of the horses, and propitiatory dinners in the four Contrade.

On the day of the joust, the historical pageant opened the day (5:30 PM), followed by performances by the flag-wavers (6:30 PM) and finally the 55th joust (7:00 PM). The riders of the Contrade of Castello, Piazza, San Martino, and Torre competed.
