Giostra dei Rioni - Palio di San Francesco

The Giostra dei Rioni - Palio di San Francesco 2025 in Avetrana was held on August 5, 6, 7, and 9 in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, organized by the Giostra dei Rioni San Francesco d'Assisi Association.

The evening of August 5, at 8:00 PM, opened with the delivery and blessing of the Palio, followed by the start of games and tastings; on August 6 and 7, starting at 9:00 PM, the competitions between the four districts—Castello, Saraceno, San Francesco, and San Martino—continued, accompanied by food stands. The final evening on August 9 featured the grand historical pageant with the re-enactment of the legend of Chria and the court of the Pagano family.

The guest of honor was actor Pietro Masotti, known for the series 'Il Paradiso delle Signore', who played the lord of Avetrana, Mario Pagano. To complete the Avetrana summer, on August 16, the nineteenth edition of 'Fricennu Mangiannu' took place, an evening dedicated to local gastronomy with music and folk dances.
