Giostra Cavalleresca of Sulmona

The 29th edition of the Giostra Cavalleresca of Sulmona was held on July 26 and 27, 2025, in Piazza Garibaldi, in front of thousands of spectators. The historical pageant was opened by approximately 300 participants in Renaissance costume, with actress Carlotta Natoli playing the role of Queen Joanna of Aragon.

The 2025 Palio was won by Luca Innocenzi, a knight from the Borgo San Panfilo, marking his fourth personal victory and the fifth for his Borgo, following a spectacular comeback after a fall on the first day. Behind him were Gertian Cela (Sestiere of Porta Bonomini), Mattia Zannori (Borgo of Santa Maria della Tomba), and Marco Diafaldi (Sestiere of Porta Filiamabili). In the Giostra of Europe for Peace, held on the first weekend, the Sestiere of Porta Filiamabili triumphed with knight Tommaso Suadoni.
