Gesù Nazareno Procession of Caltanissetta

The 2025 edition of the Gesù Nazareno Procession opened the Holy Week of Caltanissetta on Palm Sunday, April 13. In the morning, devotees of the Gesù Nazareno Association wove and arranged the flowers gathered in the local countryside on the flower-decked boat, creating the usual striking visual effect. In the afternoon, before leaving the courtyard of the municipal library, the statue of Gesù Nazareno was placed on the boat, dressed in fabric and surrounded by numerous ex-votos. In the evening, at 7:15 PM, the procession departed from the Church of Sant'Agata al Collegio at the end of Holy Mass, crossing the main streets of the historic center in the traditional allegorical re-enactment of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, accompanied by the devotion of the local people.
