Edition 2025 — Geothermal Hills

The 14th edition of the Geothermal Hills Festival brought contemporary theatre to the geothermal villages of the Upper Val di Cecina and the Metalliferous Hills, with Pomarance as a key venue being the organizational heart of the festival. A rich program of world premieres, national previews, and site-specific performances, produced by Officine Papage, crossed the theatres, squares, and historic villages of inland Tuscany.

The 14th edition of the Geothermal Hills Festival confirmed the formula of a widespread contemporary theatre festival in the villages of the Tuscan geothermal region: Pomarance (Province of Pisa), Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina, Monteverdi Marittimo, Monterotondo Marittimo, and Montieri. Produced by Officine Papage under the artistic direction of Marco Pasquinucci, the festival wove together performances, national premieres, theatrical walks, and community meetings, enhancing the unique landscape of the Geothermal Hills and the link between theatre, territory, and popular traditions.
