Gallo Matese Bean Festival

The debut of the festival

The first edition of the Gallo Matese Bean Festival animated the historic center of the Caserta village on the evening of Saturday, August 9, 2025. Organized by the local Pro Loco, the event focused on the native Matese bean, still cultivated using traditional methods and currently a PDO candidate.

Among the illuminated narrow streets, the public was able to savor soups, stews, and bean-based dishes, along with many other local culinary specialties offered at a modest cost. The turnout, with hundreds of participants and numerous visitors from abroad, confirmed the success of an event capable of promoting both a typical product and the identity of a small mountain village.
