Edition 2025 — Friendship Festival of the Three Borders
The 46th Friendship Festival of the Three Borders took place on Sunday, September 14, 2025, on the summit of Monte Forno. Hikers from Italy, Austria, and Slovenia met at 1,508 meters for the historic handshake, amidst folklore, live music, and the cuisine of the three countries.
In 2025, the festival celebrated its 46th edition on Sunday, September 14th. As every second Sunday in September since 1980, the Latin, Germanic, and Slavic ethnic groups met on the summit of Monte Forno to shake hands as a sign of peace and brotherhood. At the summit, at 1,508 meters, there was no shortage of typical cuisine from Italy, Austria, and Slovenia, local drinks for toasting, and live music, with hikers ascending from Fusine, Ratece, and Arnoldstein.
