The Free Young Music Festival is the festival-contest that in Marcon, in the metropolitan city of Venice, gives a voice to the emerging bands of the area. The event takes place in the spaces of the parish of San Bartolomeo in Gaggio and is promoted by the Circolo Noidue of Gaggio and San Liberale.
Space for emerging groups
The festival is designed for musical groups composed mainly of young people between 10 and 35 years old, particularly high school and university students and so-called garage bands. A fundamental rule: lyrics and music must be strictly written by the band members and therefore original. It is a real contest, with prizes for the participating groups, including hours of studio recording to produce a CD.
Music, contests, and conviviality
In addition to the concerts and performances by the competing groups, the evening offers a food stand with food and drinks, in a festive atmosphere that combines a passion for music and community life. The Free Young Music Festival represents one of the few opportunities for young musicians from Marconese to get on stage and make themselves known.

How to get there
Gaggio di Marcon can be reached by car from the Mestre Tangenziale (ring road) via the Marcon exit. Marcon-Gaggio train station is on the Venice-Treviso line. ACTV public buses are available from Mestre.
