Francigena Tuscany Marathon

The ninth edition of the Francigena Tuscany Marathon was held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, proposed as a special edition for the Jubilee Year. The major non-competitive walk started from Piazza del Duomo in Pietrasanta at 7:00 AM and from San Macario at 12:00 PM, winding along the northern Via Francigena to Lucca.

The full route of approximately 44 kilometers was divided into the usual stages of 11.8 km, 26.7 km, and 44.8 km, with arrivals in Camaiore, Valpromaro, and Lucca. The format, which follows the original path of the Francigena for about 80% of the way, was confirmed, passing through the characteristic villages of Versilia and the Lucchesia region, confirming the success of an event that has already involved over 14,000 participants from across Italy and abroad in its first few editions.
