Francesco nell'Arte dei Madonnari

The project Francesco nell'Arte dei Madonnari stems from the link between Assisi and Curtatone (Mantua), a town famous for its historic National Meeting of Madonnari at the Sanctuary of the Graces, where dozens of street artists from around the world compete each year in the ephemeral art of chalk.

The arrival of this tradition in Assisi, the city of Saint Francis, marks the encounter between two excellences of Italian popular art and is part of the broader program of celebrations for the VIII Centenary of the death of the Poor Man, with the aim of leaving a permanent artwork born from the hands of the best international madonnari to the city.
