Edition 2025 — Francavilla Greek City

The second edition of "Francavilla Greek City - A Walk Through History and Mythology" took place on Sunday, July 6, 2025, with excellent participation. Organized by the Pro Loco of Francavilla together with the Municipality and the "Chiddi da Vina" theater company, the walk led residents and visitors through the historic center, blending myth and archaeology to rediscover the village's Greek origins, possibly the ancient Kallipolis.

The second edition of Francavilla Greek City was held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, enjoying great public success. Promoted by the Pro Loco of Francavilla with the Municipality of Francavilla di Sicilia and the "Chiddi da Vina" theater company, the walk offered a themed route through the streets of the historic center.

Starting from Piazza Annunziata, the itinerary touched upon the Church of the SS. Annunziata, the Church of the Carmine, Piazza Matrice, the "Chianu di Maccu", the Karol Wojtyla Municipal Villa, the archaeological excavation area, and the M.A.FRA Museum in Palazzo Cagnone. Along the way, costumed actors brought the myth of Kore and Demeter to life, while contributions from architect Sebastiano La Maestra and professor Gaetana La Maestra illustrated the temple dedicated to the two deities, unearthed by the Superintendency of Syracuse between 1979 and 1984-1985.
