Edition 2025 — Fotonica

The 9th edition of Fotonica took place in Rome from December 6th to 13th, 2025, at the Accademia d'Ungheria, with a week dedicated to digital light. Light installations, photographic exhibitions reinterpreted in an audiovisual key, live AV performances, and meetings with artists made up a program with a strong international imprint, opened by the vernissage on Saturday, December 6th, and closed by the performance evening on Saturday the 13th.

Fotonica 2025, the ninth edition

From December 6 to 13, 2025, Fotonica brought its ninth edition to the Accademia d'Ungheria in Rome, built around the image of the photon, the smallest and brightest luminous fragment in the universe. The vernissage was held on Saturday, December 6, at 6:30 PM, kicking off a week of daily opening of the installations from 10 AM to 8 PM.

The works on display

Ezer év közös úton, a light installation by Erik Mátrai and Márton Urbán;
the photographic exhibition dedicated to László Moholy-Nagy, re-proposed as an audiovisual installation;
Risonanza, a multimedia installation by Zsolt Gyenes and Anita Egle.

The final evening

On Saturday, December 13, from 9 PM to 11:30 PM, the festival closed with the Meet the Artists F2025 meeting, followed by the live audiovisual performance Edge of Order by Adél Garics and the AV live set by Fausto Mercier. A finale that summarized well the festival's dual soul, exhibition-oriented by day and performance-oriented by night.
