Fosdinovo Medieval Festival

The 24th edition of the Fosdinovo Medieval Festival was held on Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6, 2025, under the title "The Triumph of Gabriello Malaspina 1487". The edition was dedicated to Gabriello II Malaspina, protagonist of the famous siege of Sarzana in 1487 and a trusted man of Lorenzo the Magnificent: the celebrations reconstructed his triumph in the Serrezzana war, with simulated battles, Renaissance music, and scenes of popular jubilation.

Under the walls of the Malaspina Castle and through the village alleys, the program included historical pageants, the "Piacere Castello" pageant with music and jesters, falconry shows, medieval dances, sword duels, fire-eaters and closing fireworks, encampments, a medieval market, workshops and readings for children, as well as taverns with Lunigiana specialties. The official opening was scheduled for 6:00 PM on Saturday, with free admission.
