Edition 2025 — Formia Classical Theatre
The tenth anniversary: eight performances for the 10th edition
To celebrate the first ten years, in 2025 the Formia Classical Theatre Festival expanded the programme to eight performances, compared to the usual six, distributed from 12 July to 6 August, always at 9:30 PM in the Caposele Archaeological Area.
The opening was entrusted to The Menaechmi by Plautus, in the adaptation and direction of Vincenzo Zingaro with the Castalia company. This was followed by Sophocles' Electra directed by Giuseppe Argirò with Micol Pambieri, Euripides' Orestes directed by Alessandro Machìa with Pino Quartullo, Machiavelli's The Mandrake, Aristophanes' The Knights in the reading by Cinzia Maccagnano, Ben Jonson's Volpone with Edoardo Siravo, and Petronius' Satyricon.
The closing, on 6 August, was reserved for Alessandro Manzoni's Adelchi, proposed as a concert-performance for actors and orchestra with Vincenzo Zingaro and Giuseppe Pambieri. The edition, produced by the Municipality of Formia with the support of the Lazio Region, featured €15 tickets and free admission for under-18s.
