Edition 2025 — Folk Music Festival
The fifth edition of the Folk Music Festival took place on Friday, February 21, 2025, starting at 8:30 PM, in the hall of the Le Mie Regine restaurant-pizzeria in San Marzano di San Giuseppe (TA). As is tradition, the evening was enlivened by folk music performed live by the participants themselves: anyone could join in by bringing their own instrument, their voice, or simply the desire to dance.
The invitation was extended to musicians and enthusiasts from Puglia, as well as Calabria, Campania, and Basilicata, in the spirit of exchange between the folk cultures of the South. Between pizzica pizzica, stornelli, and quadriglie, the hall turned into a large, free-entry collective celebration.
Programme
The festival does not have a fixed lineup of artists: it is a participatory evening where the music is created by those present. The format includes:
- Opening of the hall and start at 8:30 PM
- Live folk music played freely by participants (tambourines, accordions, guitars, voices)
- Group dances: pizzica pizzica, quadriglie, and stornellate
- Possibility to dine at the venue, with seat reservations subject to availability
