The 2025 edition of the Fo'cra di San Ciro saw a woodpile erected on Via Pasolini with a base of 26 meters per side and a height of 23 meters, built with olive branches and vine clippings donated by the faithful. The lighting took place on the evening of Thursday, January 30th at 8:00 PM, followed on the 31st by the traditional procession of the image of Saint Ciro through the streets of Grottaglie, with festivities spread throughout the second half of the month.

Fo'cra di San Ciro 2025

In January 2025, the patronal feast of Grottaglie renewed the appointment with the Fo'cra: the pyramid of olive branches and vine clippings, set up on Via Pasolini, measured a base of 26 meters per side and a height of 23 meters, confirming its place among the largest ritual fires in Europe. In the days leading up to the lighting, visitors were able to walk through the internal chamber of the woodpile, leaving messages and drawings for Saint Ciro. The lighting ritual took place on Thursday, January 30th at 8:00 PM, before a large crowd, while on January 31st, the solemn procession of the venerated image of the co-patron saint traversed the main streets of the city. Alongside the Fo'cra, the Focaredda of the children was also created.
