Edition 2025 — Florence Games Festival

The first edition of the Florence Games Festival took place on March 29-30, 2025, at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence. Two inaugural days that brought legends of the video game industry such as Glen Schofield, Tina Nawrocki, Ron Perlman, and Kenji Watanabe to the Tuscan capital, joined by Italian ambassadors Dario Moccia and Pow3r. Between the main stage, esports area with Epic Games tournaments, indie games, retrogaming, and racing area, the event captivated enthusiasts of all ages.

The first edition of the Florence Games Festival

The first edition of the Florence Games Festival was held on March 29-30, 2025, at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence, under the patronage of the Municipality of Florence. The event, produced by Smile Creative Agency, PopSpace.it, and SiCrea, offered a journey into video game culture divided into several thematic areas.

The Leopolda space hosted the Retrogaming Area with arcade cabinets and an Arcade Museum, the Racing Area with driving simulators, the Indie Area for independent developers, and the Esports Stage with Epic Games tournaments. The main stage featured panels and interviews, including the sessions "From Hellboy to Videogames" and "Cinema in Videogames".

International guests included: Glen Schofield (creator of Dead Space), Tina Nawrocki (animator of Cuphead), actor Ron Perlman, and Kenji Watanabe (chief designer of Digimon). Official ambassadors for the edition were creators Dario Moccia and Giorgio "Pow3r" Calandrelli.

Programme

Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30, 2025

  • Main Stage — talks and interviews, including "From Hellboy to Videogames" and "Cinema in Videogames", with interactive live monster design sessions.
  • Esports Stage — competitive tournaments with Epic Games.
  • Indie Area — playable titles and meetings with independent developers.
  • Retrogaming Area — arcade cabinets and Arcade Museum inspired by the 80s and 90s.
  • Racing Area — stations with driving simulators.
  • NPC Night on Saturday evening, reserved for Premium and VIP package holders.

Highlights

Prices

<p>Standard daily tickets and Premium and VIP packages valid for both days were available, the latter including exclusive benefits such as special press books and access to the Saturday night NPC Night.</p>
