Florence Dance Festival

The 36th edition of the Florence Dance Festival was held from June 23 to July 24, 2025, at the Chiostro Maggiore of Santa Maria Novella in Florence, with a lineup dedicated to the theme "Creativity and Innovation". The edition featured world-renowned companies: the Compañía Antonio Gades with Carmen at the opening, the Yue Yin Dance Company from New York with Ripple and the Fracture of Light, the Peridance Contemporary Dance Company directed by Igal Perry, Lewis Major Projects from Australia with Cartography of Light, the MM Contemporary Dance Company by Michele Merola, the Balletto di Toscana by Philippe Kratz, and the Balletto di Venezia by Alessio Carbone.

Among the special productions were "Isacco, un figlio imperfetto" (July 3) and "La Sicilia dei Fratelli Florio - L'inizio" (July 10), choreographed by Marga Nativo and inspired by the novels of Stefania Auci. The final evening on July 24, dedicated to "Style and Culture in Dance", featured a collaboration with the Taipei Municipal Zhong Zheng Senior High School.
