Edition 2025 — FJ World Championship Rio Marina
2025 was the year of preparation: the Centro Velico Elbano of Rio Marina consolidated its bid to host the Flying Junior World Championship, announced for July 2026 to coincide with the club's 70th anniversary. The FJ class, a double-handed dinghy created in 1955 by Dutch architect Uilke van Essen, continued to bring together crews from numerous nations on the international circuit, in anticipation of the major world event on the Island of Elba. Throughout the year, the Elba club defined the logistics of the event—land area, slipway, hospitality, and racecourse in the Gulf of Rio Marina—laying the foundations for the return of the FJ World Championship to Italy after a seven-year absence.
