Edition 2025 — FISB Central-South Round

In 2025, the Central-South Qualifying Round, as designed for 2026, did not yet appear in the federal calendar: the regional round format is, in fact, one of the innovations introduced by the FISB for the 2026 season. However, Carovigno has been a reference point for Italian flag-throwing for decades, thanks to its historic Gruppo Sbandieratori e Battitori 'Nzegna, one of the founding groups of the Federation and a protagonist of the national circuit even in the 2025 season.

The town of Carovigno, in the province of Brindisi, has been linked to the flag by a tradition spanning over half a century. The Gruppo Sbandieratori e Battitori 'Nzegna is among the formations that, in 1966 in San Marino, gave life to the Italian Flag-Throwers Federation, and over the years it has brought major federal events to Puglia, such as the National Championship hosted in the town's squares in the past.

During the 2025 season, the Carovigno group continued its competitive activity within the FISB circuit, awaiting the reform that, from 2026, introduced regional qualifying rounds — North-West and Central-South — assigning the organization of the southern stage specifically to Carovigno.
