Edition 2025 — Firenze-Pistoia 1870

The fourth edition of the Firenze-Pistoia 1870 took place on Sunday, February 2, 2025. The re-enactment of Italy's first cycling race departed at 9:00 AM from Parco delle Cascine in Florence to arrive around noon in Piazza del Duomo in Pistoia, with the customary stop at the Medici Villa in Poggio a Caiano along the 33-kilometer historic route.

The fourth edition of the Firenze-Pistoia 1870 once again presented the re-enactment of the first road cycling race held in Italy on February 2, 1870. Nineteen enthusiasts represented the nineteen daring riders of the era, followed by a group of participants in costume with historic bicycles, up to a maximum of one hundred and fifty.

Among the novelties of the 2025 edition was the possibility to participate with vintage bicycles registered up to 1987, in addition to faithful reproductions of 19th-century models. The ride, which started from Parco delle Cascine in Florence, passed through Poggio a Caiano with a stop at the Medici Villa, before concluding in Piazza del Duomo in Pistoia.
