Fire Festival and Donkey Race at Capezza in Sulmona

The 2025 edition of the Fire Festival was held on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, in Piazza Garibaldi in Sulmona, confirming its role as the inaugural event of the Giostra Cavalleresca calendar.

The two days followed the traditional structure of the event: in the afternoon, folk games animated the square, while in the evening, food stalls featuring typical products from the Peligna Valley and musical entertainment followed. Highlights of the festival included the Donkey Race at Capezza and the evocative lighting of the bonfires, a symbolic ritual that closes the celebrations. In 2025 as well, the festival attracted numerous visitors to the historic center of Sulmona.
