Edition 2025 — Sagra dello Sgabeo

In 2025, the Fiera con Castagnata e Sagra dello Sgabeo enlivened Borghetto di Vara with over a hundred stalls, fried sgabei, roasted chestnuts, and chestnut desserts. Amidst vintage vehicles and folk music, the festival confirmed its role as a major autumn event in Val di Vara, attracting visitors from across the province of La Spezia.

The 2025 edition of the Fiera di Merci Varie, Castagnata e Sagra dello Sgabeo transformed the historic centre of Borghetto di Vara into a lively autumn market. The over one hundred stalls and food stands offered fried sgabei, roasted chestnuts from local woods, castagnaccio, and chestnut fritters with new wine. The day was enhanced by the exhibition of vintage cars and motorcycles and folk music, in a celebration that annually honours the flavours and traditions of Val di Vara.
