The historic fair of Comelico, over 700 years of tradition on November 2nd and 3rd
The Fiera dei Santi is one of the oldest events in the Belluno Dolomites: it is held in Santo Stefano di Cadore, the center of Comelico in the province of Belluno, every year on November 2nd and 3rd. Its origins date back to the 13th century (the first evidence is from 1263), when it began as a cattle fair in the period preceding winter, with the first snowfalls on the mountains.
For centuries, the fair was a fundamental event for the buying and selling of livestock and for commercial exchanges between mountain communities. It still retains its ancient charm today: the streets of the center fill with stalls, tools, and merchandise, while costumed figures and musicians in traditional dress bring the original atmosphere back to life.
The Fiera dei Santi is also a celebration of autumn flavors: roasted chestnuts, fried sweets, cotton candy, wine, and beer accompany visitors among the stalls. An opportunity to discover the crafts and typical products of Comelico, in a unique setting that combines the historical memory of the territory with the liveliness of a large village fair.
The 2026 edition takes place on November 2nd and 3rd in the historic center of Santo Stefano di Cadore, renewing a tradition that has lasted for over seven centuries. Among the stalls of typical products and crafts, roasted chestnuts and sweets, and costumed figures, the fair retains its charm as a major autumn event in Comelico.
Santo Stefano di Cadore is reached by car along the SS52 Carnica, in Comelico. Bus connections (Dolomitibus) are available from Belluno and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The nearest airport is Venice.
