Fëta de l'Ano - Donkey Festival and Donkey Palio of Ollomont

The 2025 edition of the Fëta de l'Ano confirmed the established formula of the festival in Ollomont, Aosta Valley. The heart of the day was the Palio degli Asini, the race between teams of three people who compete in guiding the donkey along the course, amidst fun and unpredictability.

The gastronomic part was not missing, with the tasting of donkey meat accompanied by polenta, fontina, and local cheeses, a symbol of Valpelline's mountain cuisine. The festival, born in the seventies to commemorate the role of donkeys in transport to the pastures and in mining activities, brought together the community and numerous visitors in an atmosphere of popular celebration.
