Festivities in Honor of San Giuseppe da Leonessa and Santa Giusta

The relaunch of the festival in 2025

2025 was the year of the «first renewed edition» of the festivities in honor of San Giuseppe da Leonessa and Santa Giusta. The program opened on Tuesday, August 12, in Piazzetta del Fiume with the Super8 Festival «Le Nostre Radici», an evening of vintage film screenings, and continued on Wednesday, August 13, with the bachelors vs. married men football tournament at the Posta sports field.

Saturday, August 16, was dedicated to popular games and tournaments in the afternoon, followed by an outdoor dinner and a musical evening. Sunday, August 17, was the central moment: traditional wake-up call at dawn, solemn mass and procession with the band, distribution of blessed bread, then games, opening of the cellars, live music, and fireworks to close. The tug-of-war Palio was won by the village of Cerqua. The organization, led by the Associazione Il Castagno, also recorded on that occasion the change of presidency from Gianni Totaro to Luca Desideri.
