Festivities in honor of Saint Alphonsus Maria de' Liguori

The extraordinary procession of the remains

The most anticipated moment of the 2025 edition arrived on the evening of Thursday, July 31: after the 7:00 PM mass presided over by Fr. Gennaro Sorrentino, the urn containing the remains of Saint Alphonsus left the basilica at 8:30 PM to travel through the streets of Pagani, in the province of Salerno. An exceptional event, which had not been repeated for twenty-five years due to the fragility of the relics, followed by an impressive crowd of faithful and pilgrims.

The solemnity and the secular program

Friday, August 1, the day of the solemnity, the Eucharistic celebration was held in Piazza Sant'Alfonso with the bishop of the diocese of Nocera Inferiore-Sarno. From Saturday, August 2, the secular program came to life with three evenings in the square: the Città di Francavilla Fontana brass band, the Pagani Music Festival dedicated to younger audiences, and, on August 4, the grand finale entrusted to Gigi Finizio.
