Edition 2025 โ€” Blessed Giovanni Liccio Festival

The 2025 edition of the festivities in honor of Blessed Giovanni Liccio followed the traditional calendar: the octave of prayer at the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli starting in the second half of May, with the solemnity falling on the last Sunday of the month, May 25, and the grand procession of the reliquary urn on the following Monday. As every year, Caccamo was filled with the faithful, many in Dominican habits, to accompany the patron's fercolo along the streets of the historic center to the Rabbato district.

In 2025, the Festivities in Honor of Blessed Giovanni Liccio took place according to the usual Caccamo tradition. The octave animated the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli with seven days of prayer, recitation of the Chaplet, and singing of ancient devotional verses, while the faithful placed lilies under the altar of the Blessed.

The solemnity fell on the last Sunday of May, the 25th, with the highlight on the following Monday: hourly masses in the morning, a solemn Eucharistic celebration in the afternoon, and the Solemn Procession of the Reliquary Urn in silver through the main streets of Caccamo, between Piazza Duomo and the Church of the SS. Annunziata, up to the Rabbato district where the Dominican was born. A multitude of people, some wearing the habit of the Blessed as a vow or act of devotion, took turns carrying the fercolo on their shoulders, concluding with the blessing and the invocation "Long live Blessed Giovanni!".
