Festival on the Oglio Bridge

A bridge connecting two provinces

The Festival on the Oglio Bridge stems from an idea as simple as it is evocative: to close the Celso Gandini Bridge, which connects Pumenengo, in the province of Bergamo, to Rudiano, in the province of Brescia, to traffic and return it to the people for a day. The bridge over the Oglio river thus becomes a pedestrian zone and a widespread stage, a symbol of the meeting between two territories and two communities separated only by the watercourse.

Re-enactments and giant kites

Among the most spectacular events are the medieval re-enactment by the Confraternita del Leone, complete with a costume battle, and the flight of giant kites that color the sky above the Oglio. These are the moments that best tell the spirit of the festival: wonder, play, and family-friendly entertainment.

Nature, workshops, and well-being

Promoted by Parco Oglio Nord together with local associations, the festival gives ample space to nature and the river: botanical and creative workshops, games for children along the Oglio, treasure hunts, yoga sessions, literary walks, and guided tours of the two towns. A program designed to rediscover the bond between communities and the river environment.

Shows and concerts

The day concludes with theatrical performances, animations, puppet shows, and concerts, in a succession of offerings that liven up the bridge from morning to evening. The Festival on the Oglio Bridge is a virtuous example of collaboration between Pumenengo and Rudiano, in Lombardy, capable of transforming an everyday infrastructure into a place of celebration, culture, and meeting.
