Festival of the Trumpets (Feast of Saints Peter and Paul)

The 2025 edition

The 2025 Festival of the Trumpets took place on June 28th and 29th in the San Pietro district, at the Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul on Via Santi Pietro e Paolo in Grottaglie. The eve of June 28th saw the opening of an exhibition in honor of master potter Carmelo Vestita and the presentation of "Verso Itaca".

On June 29th, the day of the patron saints, the evening came alive with the Eucharistic celebration at 8:00 PM and, at 9:00 PM, the apotropaic ritual of breaking the trumpets. This was followed by "District, Potters in celebration", with master potters shaping Saint Peter's trumpets accompanied by musicians, a performance by the Assurd Duo of traditional music, the harp of Benedetta Primiceri, and, in closing, a DJ set with ceramic sounds and vibrations.
