Festival of the Mount – Ferragosto at the Basilica

The 2025 edition of the Sagra del Monte took place on Friday, August 15th, at the Basilica of Santa Maria del Monte in Cesena, for the solemnity of the Assumption of Mary. From the morning, Holy Masses were celebrated every hour, from 6 AM to 12 PM, accompanied by the chants of the Benedictine monks, while in the crypt priests were available for confessions.

In the afternoon, at 5 PM, the Solemn Vespers were recited, followed at 6 PM by the Solemn Mass. The most heartfelt moment was the traditional pilgrimage on foot along the Via delle Scalette, undertaken by thousands of faithful reciting the Rosary. To facilitate the ascent, Start Romagna provided a free shuttle service between the city center and the basilica. The day confirmed the strong roots of the Sagra del Monte in Cesena's Ferragosto.
