Festival of the Most Holy Piety (Lumineri)

The 2025 edition of the Lumineri Festival commemorated the 503rd anniversary of the 1522 Miracle. That year, on the evenings of January 7th and 8th, Cannobio renewed its most cherished rite: the procession of the Sacred Rib, the Descent from the Collegiate Church of San Vittore towards the Sanctuary, and the return the following day. The village and the lakefront were illuminated by thousands of flames, in an atmosphere of devotion and contemplation that draws faithful and visitors from the Verbano region and the Canton Ticino every year.
